BSN

Last updated: 2026-07-22

A BSN (burgerservicenummer) is the Dutch citizen service number used in dealings with government, employers and many institutions.

Newcomers typically obtain a BSN after registering in the BRP at their address. Without registration, getting a BSN and related services is often difficult.
