An indexatieclausule is a contract clause that allows the rent to be increased periodically, often by reference to an inflation index.

Statutory annual increase caps: social 4.1% (from July 2026), mid 6.1% (from January 2026), free sector 4.4% (from January 2026, cap in force until May 2029). For CPI-plus-markup clauses, the Hoge Raad held in November 2024 that a markup of up to 3% is in general not unfair.
